October 2017 was dominated by Super Mario Odyssey, and rightly so: Mario’s latest adventure is currently holding a 97 on Metacritic, and Switch Era gave the game a perfect 10 calling it a masterpiece with a hopeful and vibrant outlook that “is sorely needed.”
However, there were quite a few gems to release on Nintendo Switch in October 2017 that have been overlooked.
Elliot Quest is a beautiful ode to Zelda II that transcends the Nintendo classic. Find out why we gave Elliot Quest a 10 in our review here.
Knight Terrors is an endless-runner similar to Flappy Bird. Unlike Flappy Bird, though, Knight Terrors is a damn good game. It’s only $3 USD so check out our review here and then download this chaotic title on the Nintendo Switch eShop.
Neon Chrome “fills a very specific void on Switch and will hopefully bring more twin-stick shooters and rogue-like titles to the console.” Read our full review for Neon Chrome here.
Stardew Valley scored a perfect 10 from Switch Era and the Switch edition is the definitive version of the game. It’s an honorable mention simply because it was one of the most anticipated indie games to come to the Switch this year.
