Pokemon Switch Prediction! Will Pikachu and Eevee get new forms?

Recently a rumour has surfaced and gained a lot of traction concerning the new Pokemon games heading to the Switch. Leaked to be a remake of Yellow and titled “Pokemon Let’s Go! Pikachu/Eevee,” this rumour whilst by no means confirmed looks to be very solid.

I’m not gonna discuss the possibility of whether or not these leaks are real, but one possibility or prediciton I have for the new games if this rumour is true is: Will Pikachu and Eevee get a new evolution?

A big question circulating around Pokemon fans if these rumours are true is: Will Eevee evolve? The reason for this is that Pikachu in the original Yellow refused. At first my initial response for this was a no and the Eevee and Pikachu would merely incorporate special moves to make up for their refusal to evolve. It wouldn’t be the first time in a Pokemon game. Remember surfing Pikachu?

However one thing that makes this possibility a bit more unlikely is the fact that Eevee’s entire gimmick is about it evolving and just having a Eevee for one version in comparison to Pikachu is a bit bland. Then if Eevee does evolve then that kind of leaves Pikachu in the dust as Jolteon is superior. So I suggest that each version will get a version specific evolution for Pikachu and Eevee.

My reason for suggesting this? The leaks all say that the new Pokemon titles will be revealed soon and on top of that after decades of Pokemon only recently have Game Freak confirmed that they originally had a third form for Pikachu planned named “Gorochu.”

To me the timing is suspicious to say the least. Why tell us now that they had another evolution for Pikachu? Would they make Eevee a mascot for a title, but not give it a new evolution? It is all speculation at the moment, but if true. Remember, you heard it here first folks.
